New passenger information for S-Bahn Berlin

The Fredersdorf S-Bahn station was equipped with modern passenger information.

During a pilot installation this week, DB Station & Service GmbH installed the first ZugInfoMonitor (ZIM) devices for the S-Bahn Berlin network.

At Fredersdorf S-Bahn station (line 5), the optical passenger information is now displayed on two ZIM 32 devices (each Master + Slave) on both sides. These devices consists of 32″ TFT displays in a weatherproof housing. For now, the data is supplied via the existing backend of the S-Bahn Berlin. Later, a transfer to the backend IRIS+ is planned, which will also allow more modern layouts to be implemented.

BLIC supports DB Station & Service GmbH within the scope of the project “Reisendeninformation der Zukunft (Traveler Information of the Future)” with the conception, tendering and procurement as well as during the realization and acceptance phases.

GLOBAL DISPLAY SOLUTIONS (GDS) is the supplier for the equipment installed at the S-Bahn station.
