April 2011: BLIC and LRTC at the 59th UITP World Congress and Exhibition in Dubai
The participation of the BLIC group became a great success.
The participation of BLIC and LRTC at the UITP Word Congress and Mobility and City Transport Exhibition in Dubai was a great success. Delegates and clients visited the booth of BLIC / LRTC for information exchange and expert talks.
Additionally, BLIC was present in conference meetings.
In the session “Youth for Public Transport meets Young Professionals of the Sector” Kubilay Altun, BLIC gave a Y4PT team-presentation: the GreenerCommunities Program©– a unique loyalty approach for Customer Relationship supported by state-of-the-art technologies. GeCO© is designed to boost Public Transport, Local Businesses and Eco-Sensitivity. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that unlike conventional customer loyalty programs, the GeCo Program© aims at social inclusion, enhances environment awareness, and strengthens local economies.
Since 2010, Kubilay is member of the Executive Commitee of Y4PT.
Dr. Andres Schrei, managing director of BLIC, held a lecture on “The selection process for it solutions within modern and economically acting public transport services” at the UITP Expo Forum.
The first UITP world congress and exhibition held in the MENA region was attended by 2,000 delegates from 80 countries. The exhibition itself (252 exhibitors from 37 countries, 30,000 sqm) was visited by 9,700 visitors. Many Ministers, elected officials, CEOs and high-level executives from authorities, industry and operators participated in the meetings.Off-site, delegates were able to experience public transport of the city of Dubai in real terms, for example in the dense bus system or in the OCC Operation Control Center which was designed and – in its first phase of regular operation ‑ supervised by BLIC Middle East.
